Why clouds are white, but sometimes gray?

Clouds are white because tiny water droplets and ice crystals inside them scatter all colors of sunlight equally. When clouds get very thick and full of water, less light can pass through, making them look gray.

⭐ Bonus fact: Sometimes, really dark clouds can mean rain or a thunderstorm is on the way!
