Why does some plant have thorns?

Plants grow thorns to protect themselves from animals that might want to eat them. Thorns make it hard and prickly for hungry creatures to take a bite. It's a plant's way of saying, "Stay away from my leaves!"

⭐ Bonus fact: Cacti are famous for their sharp thorns, which also help them save water in dry places.
