Why we have traffic lights?

Long ago, going across the street in big cities was hard and dangerous because of all the cars, horses, and people. Traffic lights were invented to help everyone cross safely and keep things moving smoothly. They make sure everyone knows when to stop, wait, and go.

⭐ Bonus fact: The very first traffic light, used in London, looked like a railway signal and used gas lamps to glow red and green.
