Why lizards can grow back their tails?

When a lizard is caught by its tail or feels threatened, it can break off its tail! This helps them escape danger. Later, a new tail grows back in its place.

⭐ Bonus fact: The new tail is often a little different from the original one, sometimes shorter or differently colored.
